Best Mexican food I have ever had. Both this location and the one on Plumb Ln. are fantastic! Please try it. The chicken and cheese papusa's are my fav!

While I haven't tried absolutely everything on the menu, this "hole in the wall" that is located in a former Del Taco building is probably some of the best Mexican food I've found since moving to the Truckee Meadows over four years ago from Lake Tahoe and over 10 years ago from Los Angeles. I've had the Carne Asada tacos and burritos. The best burrito I've had was made with Carnitas. The tamales (only available in Pork or Chicken) are as good as my mom ever made (sorry mom). Just the right texture and seasoning. You can have the tamales dry or with an Enchilada sauce. The best tacos I've had were made with Lengua (tounge). They also offer what some would consider more exotic ingredients like tripe and head but certainly more traditional meats are available. They offer breakfast (the Chorizo con Huevo is excellent), lunch specials, platters, desserts, and a drive-thru. The place may not look like much and the TV is a little loud sometimes, but overall I think anyone that visits will be throughly satisfied.



Update:



I just went by this place last night to try and get some food for work. The place is closed. There is a sign out front telling everyone that they had a fire. There is burnt insulation in front. They don't know when they will reopen.



I'm sad. This is my favorite taqueria in Reno :(
