Specialty Cheese Company in Lowell, Wis., owns and operates four of the oldest and smallest cheese plants in the United States. More than 60 small family farmers supply milk to it every day. Its employees, led by 10 Wisconsin licensed cheese makers, make nearly 35 varieties of cheese representing dozens of ethnic traditions. The oldest company factory has been continuously making cheese for at least 150 years. The company has invested in plant improvements and has changed the types of cheese it produces. It offers the Rich Cow brand cheese and cream products that originated from the Middle East to Persia. Hispanic and Caribbean cheese are available from the company, as well.
