Do not go to Saint Joseph Medical Center emergency room. The inept, uncaring and rude staff are too busy taking care of themselves to take care of patients, leaving the latter to wait and wait and wait, increasing the patient's trauma and not administering to his or her needs, It is almost as if the nurses and doctors forgot about the human being in one of their rooms down the hall. Yet when it is time to have the patient pay, they are quick and unrelenting, no matter how poor a job they did.

The Catholic identity and principles of this Catholic hospital are nowhere to be found -- with the exception of a handful of people.

Hopefully, the staff in the emergency room will soon come to realize their purpose is to help the wounded not augment their pain and discomfort. Because the real Saint Joseph would not be pleased. More importantly, God the Father surely is not.

I was involved in an auto accident on I-78, so the ambulance took me and my son here. I can't fathom more incomplete care. I sat in blood and glass for nearly 90 minutes, until I finally walked over to the garbage can in my room and began dusting the glass out of my hair. I also went to the bathroom to wash the blood from my hands, which were badly scraped up, too. The staff watched. My hands were never checked, let alone bandaged. Days later, I'm still trying to get glass chunks out of my scalp (they never even looked), the blood from my hair (they were no help here either) and my stitches are still bleeding. I think the Dr. did an alright job with stitching my scalp back together, but I am not sure. They were, at least, nice people.
