Quite honestly we had a good experience until one of the coaches treated our two year old daughter poorly. After that we had a conversation with one of the owners and our concerns were not received well. The owner did not want to hear what we had to say and it was very disappointing. The coach was very inappropriate toward our daughter and created an environment that was not nurturing at all. I believe that the expectation on little kids is too high and the owner is not open to feedback.

This is hands down, the BEST gymnastics school out of the 6 I have seen so far in two states, and the BEST in Raleigh-Durham area, period.

The other schools we tried, they don't teach, they select. They select the talented ones, but don't teach the aspiring ones. Little kids gymnastics is just a little more than an expensive kindergarten at other gyms. They are afraid to push any limits.

Wake Gymnastics is a truly sports school, forge of the champions. And it's cheaper than the others too. I sent all three of my kids there and I'm thinking of make it three times a week.

Go to another gym

Caroline, just bc. You had a bad experience doesn't mean you shouldn't find a better place for your daughter to do gymnastics. There are so many good gyms in the area including raleigh school of gymnastics and superior which is where I brought my daughter after she was bullied by the owner of Wake at only five years old. So much happier at superior the staff is not only caring but they are fully transparent and love to answer any questions you have not to mention they teach amazing gymnastics!

My daughter and I had our first class tonight. My daughter has never attended any class on her own yet so I asked the office attendant if I could join her until she was ready to be by herself and she said that was fine. She's almost 3 years old. The instructor was great. We were most of the way through our class when a lady came over and asked how old my child was. When I told her she said that my child was in the wrong class and was pretty rude about it. She then high-fived the child standing beside mine saying good for her because she was in class without her mommy. So the instructor came over to explain why she had divided the class the way she did but the lady didn't apologize or say anything besides that we were in the wrong class. I felt embarrassed because of the way I was treated so I took my daughter and left and have no plans to return. I found out this lady was the owner when I told the office attendant that we wouldn't be returning. I was really disappointed because I was a gymnast growing up and after spending so much time on the soccer field with my two sons, I was especially excited to be able to introduce my daughter to gymnastics.

Wake gymnastics owners have one focus...their daughters. The female owner is rude, disrespectful and downright nasty to gymnasts, parents, and her own children. She is a dictator and it is her way or the highway. If you want a caring and nurturing atmosphere this is not the place to go. I'm so glad that I took my daughters out of this gym. They are so much happier.
