Asked them to weld a loose hand guard mount for me on a Henry X model gunsmith proceeded to tell me that instead of welding it he was going to build a shim to hold it in place ( see pictures) got gun back two Days later and the shim they had installed was doing nothing to hold fast the handguard mount and was told to bring it back in. Decided since it was still in warranty to send it back to Henry instead for factory replacement but upon removing the aftermarket hand guard to ship it back found that the gunsmith had gouged and marred my rifle in several places and Took large chunks of metal out of the mount piece (again see pictures) with what would appear to be a Dremel tool. The “shim” that they had installed Fell out shortly after removing the hand guard And turned out to be what would appear to be a couple small pieces of scrap metal that rubbed against the magazine tube further destroying the finish of a brand new $800 rifle. Decided to call the guy to ask for an explanation and was told that “ sometimes that happens and he did it cheap because he should’ve charged me more”. Keep in mind he was the one that set the price. When I asked him for my money back he got very aggressive on the phone including referring to me as “Dumbo “. I asked him for a refund since he trashed an $800 rifle he then gave me a line about how he was only going to give me a partial refund because of all the trouble it was working on my rifle. Never did get my refund because I did not feel safe going over to his property after the way he acted on the phone. Do yourself a favor and seek out a good qualified gunsmith if you want to have something done to your firearm and avoid this hack
