Rented a sod cutter and got a good rate and it was available last minute. Pick up went smooth and they told me I could have it for the whole day (until 5) and if I returned it early they would pro-rate the cost. Sounds good so far, right? Well, cutter ran great after I figured out how to operate it (there was very little instruction at the store). When I brought it back later that afternoon (at 3:30), the front gate was locked and no one was answering the phone. So, I drove the 30 minutes there and back for nothing. Next day someone from the office called and said that the boss had told everyone to cut out early because business was slow. I was more than a bit peeved that no one bothered to call me to let me know I didn't need to return the equipment that day. To their credit, someone came to my home to pick it up. Just a strange way to run a business.
