Good food, fair prices, friendly staff--restaurant covered in interesting bits and pieces--and odd design. Obviously seafood is the specialty.

If you haven't visited Dan & Louis, you haven't experienced Portland dining! This is one of the places that gives Portland its flavor, literally and figuratively!

SALMON CHOWDER!

A long time favorite with wonderful food and atmosphere. Great service. Good food portions for the value. Location isn't in the best part of town but it's still a fun place to go.

I don't even like oysters, but the crab cakes are to die for! A great Portland landmark and a must see for everyone!

very good food at a reasonable price

A great place to take your out-of-town guests to experience a real old-time Portland institution. Filled with interesting decor - you could spend a lot of time just looking at the walls - and serving very good food. At lunch recently I ordered the crab cakes (listed as an appetizer on the menu) and they were scrumptious!

This be-loved family resturant is truely a gem in downtown Portland! The resturant has been family owned since 1907! The family that own the resturant are some of the sweetest people I have ever met and it rubs off on the rest of the staff. They have EXCELLENT Salmon chowder too! And I love the whole look of the resturant. It's very unique!

Dan and Louis has been in the same spot for over a hundred years, this sould tell you something. The food is very tastey and the atmosphere makes this a very enjoyable experience. No parking lot, it's downtown. Find a spot and walk through the heart of downtown Portland, this is a great way to walk off the meal!
