Coffee Bean International, also known as CBI, was founded in 1972 and is one of North America s first roasters of specialty coffees. The company is headquartered in a 125,000-square-foot brick building in the historic northwest district of Portland, Ore. CBI s customer base of more than 2,000 active accounts throughout North America includes many independent, specialty coffee retailers, in addition to some prestigious chains. The company provides more than 100 different and unique specialty coffees, including single-origins, dark roasts, certified organic and fair trade, flavors, blends and espressos. Its green coffees are sourced from nearly 20 countries, including selections of rare limited edition and estate coffees. CBI markets our coffees under the Panache, Cafe Tierra and Blue Parrot Coffee Works brand names. Its one of the nation s largest suppliers of quality bulk and teabag teas, marketed under the Xanadu and Country Spice tea brand names. The company s location in Portland employs nearly 60 people.
