Brooks Brothers is pretty much the standard for New York professional men's wear. It is an institution and yes my father, my brothers,and most of my uncles shopped there. That doesn't make it a relic, that's a tradition. I was surprized that they had one The clothes are not as flashy as the ersatz saville row guys nearby or at the downtown boutiquey places but at least in my business that is a good thing. If you want to look professional, expensive but not flashy, tasteful yet understated, Brooks is the way to go. I own two suits and a blazer from them which were not cheap, but pretty reasonable as far as real men's wear goes. All suits, jackets and pants can be tailored onsite by some real old timers who know their stuff.
