PDX Groove

This PDX joint has been around for many years and has consistently put out an excellent pie. Because of the hospital being close by parking can be a small problem, but a cold beer and a great pie make any inconvenience worth the while.

no exaggeration: perfection

The good folks at American Dream have outdone themselves. They always have great pizza and nice, friendly people at the counter, but tonight in particular, everything was so quintessentially right on that a review is in order. Took the time to note our special request to use slightly less cheese, and delivered in a timely manner. Crust is slightly chewy with perfect density, sauce is seasoned with nuance (one baker gets it a bit spicy, but it's still good), and the spinach and mushrooms are plentiful and well distributed (hate it when everything is clumped together in the middle leaving the edges sparsely endowed, which seldom happens here anyway). The only problem is that we'd planned on having pizza for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, but it's already all gone. Darn you, American Dream!

Horrible experience with rude staff

Worst restaurant I have experienced yet and is the typical display of rude SE Hipsters that give the rest a bad name. We live in the NE Alberta area and have been here for 11 years and have seen this neighborhood change through the years. There are many great restaurants in Portland and there is no room for rude, filthy and overall horrible restaurants. We wanted to try this place for breakfast since we saw that they served it one day when we came in for pizza (which was pretty good)We finally made it in for breakfast since they quit serving it at 11:00 and walked in to see no one inside. The music was really loud and the staff was in the back doing whatever. We sat there for at least 5 minutes before the obviously put out hipster style staff came to help us. He made us feel completely un-welcomed. I asked if they have coffee since that is really what I wanted and he looked at me and said we will make it if you order it and made it sound like that was the worst thing we could
