King Middle School offers academic programs to the students and is located in Portland, Maine. Its student services include academic, health, social work and guidance. Its curriculum is based around learning expeditions of 10 to 12 weeks of interdisciplinary projects in which students assume professional roles, conduct authentic research and fieldwork and represent their learning in professional-style products. Its library carries resources of different genres, including historical, fiction, war, holocaust, adventure, fantasy, horror, sports, contemporary life, humor, romance, animals, comics, picture books and nonfiction. Its outing club offers activities, such as hiking, rock climbing, gym, cross-country ski and a trip to the beach. The school provides a personal laptop to every student and teacher in school.
