We purchased flooring from the Port Townsend branch this time last year and although we are very pleased with the flooring itself, the installer Strait Flooring provided to do the job left us rather aghast and frustrated. Our job was a sizable one and he bid it to take three weeks. 5 and 1/2 months later, the job still was not done yet he continued to take other jobs and often times would not show up as scheduled. He seemed unconcerned that we were left waiting. We paid him for work that is still not finished and even though there were promises to come back and complete the work in question, it's been a full year and we haven't heard a peep out of him. In the interim, some of his work has proved defective and we have had to hire another handyman to repair the original work. We are NOT pleased. He used some of our own tools for the job and left them broken, and he was rather a chaotic presence in our house when he did show up.
The folks at Strait Flooring are very kind, the products are great-- but think long and hard about proceeding with them. There is a strong chance your project will go as ours did and we wouldn't wish that on anyone!
