The city council, city manager, business development division, city attorney, city clerk and finance all have ties to the city hall. City council is comprised of a mayor and six council members. The mayor is the presiding officer of the city council and is elected at large for a four-year term. Council members are elected for overlapping four-year terms. The Business Development Division was created in support of the city council's expressed desire to bring new energy to the city's business development and redevelopment functions.
