A friend of mine went shopping there last weekend. He walked into the store with a Phillies hat on. He told me that while he was in the store that he was approached by MULTIPLE employees, asking if he needs help. He told them all that he was just browsing. He said after the about 5th time an employee asked if he needed help, he felt uncomfortable. I can understand why he felt uncomfortable since every time I have gone shopping in one of your stores it's nearly impossible to find someone to help you. He said he could clearly tell something was up because all the employees were standing around up front starring at him. So he decided that your store was not where he wanted to spend his money. As he was trying to leave an employee came up to him and said Are you ready to check out?" He stated that he was not purchasing anything. Then the store employee said "what about the hat on your head?" My friend then explained that he had walked into the store with it. The employees did not believe him. He then had to take out his phone and prove to your employees that it was his hat by showing them pictures! That is unbelievable!! He said after many more questions they finally let him leave. When he got into his car he sat there thinking about what had just happened. He decided to go back into the store and ask the guy what that was all about. They stated that it was their "loss prevention" department that had them question him. If that really was the case, then your loss prevention department really needs to start monitoring people better! If you are going to accuse someone of stealing, then make sure you have all the facts before confronting someone. If someone did their job properly they would have noticed that he walked into your store with that hat on! It was obvious that my friend was targeted because of his race. Under no circumstances was there any reason for him to be cornered by your employees like that. It is a disgrace to your company. I completely understand that people shoplift, and you need to prevent that, but like I said, if you are going to accuse a customer, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT FIRST! Not only have you lost him as a customer, but you have lost myself and many others that have heard this story! I use to spend over $500 every school year on back to school stuff for my son, but after hearing this I will not continue to give Dicks my business. My recommendation is for you to spread this email to your employees so that is matter doesn't happen again and they are trained properly, otherwise people will understand why your store name is DICKS.

The gentlemen who worked there "Leon" went above and beyond assisting me with shoe selection. He was kind and well knowledged on products. I will be continuing to shop here and let others know to do the same.
