I had to move because I was relocating to another state. Great location, great apartment, and great amenities.

Thank you so much for all of your support over the last few years! Your staff has been wonderful and we will miss being your tenants.

Apartment is good for price nothing fancy but very economic good for students going to school.

stay away from junk company!!!!

I'd rate JJ Land a 4.5, but in the absence of decimal places I'll round up to a 5. For four years I lived in a JJ Land studio apartment in Friendship while attending grad school. Though it certainly wasn't luxurious, it was a good value in a good location, which was exactly what I needed at that time. I can't recall any significant negative problems or incidents caused by JJ Land while I lived there; maintenance requests were generally prompt, and the office staff was always friendly and fair. I was returned my full deposit upon moving out (albeit after a good weekend of cleaning). Though perhaps not the best company if you're looking for something fancy or luxurious, based on my experiences JJ Land seems like a good fit for someone on a budget who's looking for a decent place in the East End.

I recently rented from JJ Land for less than one year and while I had few issues during my time living under them, I've come to regret this since I moved.



First of all, I have not yet gotten my security deposit back, despite being told it would be put right in the mail a few weeks back. I'm pretty sure I should have received it by this point if they'd sent it when they said they were going to and no one is returning my calls on the subject.



I also need them to send me proof that I paid rent to them for the several months I did and they refused to release such information to me, despite every single month I paid being my individual share and under my own name, because I was not on the lease. I would be more understanding of this if they didn't offer the alternative solution idea of sending in someone I'd lived with who was or is on the lease to obtain my personal financial records. And I get that having no one who can do this for me is my problem and not theirs, but this still comes across as very shady business practice. (Seriously, though, if they're that strict about the lease then perhaps they should think harder about just letting anyone into their units and taking their money anyway.)



Add this to the fact that my main complaints living in an apartment they managed were continuously losing hot water, a moldy bathroom, and faulty electrical outlets they apparently couldn't fix, I would highly recommend going with ANYONE ELSE if you're looking for a new place in Pittsburgh. Their rent is very reasonable, this is true, but it's honestly not worth it in the end. Go with Lobos, in all honesty, you'll have better luck.

FAKE REVIEWS!!! I give them 1 star because they have good locations. Thats about it. I can see my downstairs neighbor through the floorboards in this apartment. They never fix anything and as my apartment is starting to be shown they will come without warning like they are supposed to. This place is falling apart in in the time i've rented I have been without heat for a week, without water for a week, and the list goes on. They never repair things and if they do it's with duct tape. Paint peels off the walls and I know this isn't just them. Ask ANYONE who has ACTUALLY lived in their units. Also, take a minute to click on the profiles of all the 5 star reviewers. They're all similar in what they say and they review the same companies as each other... There's a trend here.

The people seem nice and all, but since utilities are included in rent they couldnt care less about fixing utility maintenance problems. For example, today its early February and freezing outside, and literally since Monday we have had no hot water. A couple of lies and half hearted apologies and 4-5 days later and still no hot water. No urgency from them, they really don't care about their tenants

The staff is very courteous and helps you understand their policy. You can't beat being that close to so many good places to eat and shop.

Really excited that we found a place here since it's so central and walking distance to great shops and restaurants.

Haven't been here that long but we are already very comfortable and spoiled with how we have been treated. I imagine we'll be here until we buy a house, which isn't for another few years. :)

J.J. Land Company Apartments are wonderful. Very cozy and roomy. I've been here for a few months now, and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Location and neighbors are great. No complaints.

I moved into a new apartment in Bloomfield and I couldn't be happier. The location is great and my boyfriend and I are very happy. Thank you for all your help.

Went by to check out a couple of the apartments and was impressed with both the beauty of the apartmnents and the mannerism and efficiency of the staff. I'll defiantly will be moving in soon. Thanks!

I highly recommend these apartments. My husband and I love living here. Although it is pricey by Pittsburgh's standards, you definately get what you pay for. It's very safe. The apartments are very spacious and have high, vaulted ceilings w/ very large windows - a great feature living downtown. They are located centrally to everything, and it's very convenient walking or driving to just about anywhere.

The office staff are so far above par it's amazing.  Thanks so much, all of you!!

We've been in our apartment now for 8 months and the management company has been absolutely delightful to deal with. Our sink had gotten clogged and within a matter of minutes they showed up to unclog it. I sure do appreciate you guys and keep up the good work.

Great apartments and great management company. Not too many around are as efficient and attentive as this one. The response times on my maintenance trouble calls are remarkable. Everyone at the office is friendly and a pleasure to deal with! Very good place to live. Thanks!

This company offers a variety of apartments to chose from in the Pittsburgh area which is much easier than driving around when you have these guys to help right off the bat. Thank you.
