Bidwell Training Center offers a wide range of support services in southwestern Pennsylvania, offering programs that provide career paths and opportunities in the technical, culinary and medical fields. Its academic and literacy programs offer traditional academic classes based on reading level and personal goals, one-on-one tutoring in reading and mathematics and career assessment, counseling and development services. Bidwell also offers General Equivalency Diploma preparation classes for students who lack a high school diploma. The center, based in Pittsburgh, offers its programs to vocational training applicants, beginner readers, laid-off workers, displaced homemakers and high school graduates with low reading skills. Bidwell also provides programs for entry-level jobs in the chemical industry and related fields, such as the petrochemical, biotechnology, environmental, cosmetic, food processing, manufacturing, metallurgy and pharmaceutical industries.
