Not worth it.

Ok, so I had some fun on the tour - however for the price it wasn't worth it. They didn't articulate very well as to what the tour included. For example, half of our 11 day trip was spent on the bus. A very cramped bus - and the bathroom was out of order. Many of the bathrooms we stopped at after waiting and waiting were very dirty. (Ireland doesn't have a bunch of rest stops)

There were 40 of us - and we each paid $2500. When you do the math it seems that our trip should have gone better. The leaders of our group knew very little. And the information we were given from Culture Quest conflicted. We received two sets of documents one an itinerary - and one that was full of notes on what would happen on the tour. One said that we would be receiving meals - the other said that we would not. Also, there were two different itineraries given to the 40 of us so the times we had written on the itineraries didn't all match up. (we were all on the same schedule)

Also - they couldn't give us an accurate idea as to how much money we needed for the trip - saying it was dependent on your personal tastes. However, the bottom line was eating in the country we stayed in required spending at the minimum $400 on our trip. Which is a lot for poor students.

They couldn't tell us almost anything about the trip really and what they did tell us was inaccurate.

More examples:

They couldn't tell us the cheapest place to convert our dollars into euros. And I'm speaking in general terms, American Vs. Ireland, or an ATM versus using our credit cards. In ireland - it seems to be very cheap to use your ATM (For future notice).

They also couldn't tell us how much walking there would be on our trip. Which was important for me - as I have some medical problems and needed to consider these things ahead of time.

The morning of our first day there, our hotel rooms weren't ready - we flew into the city and were there at 9:30 am (Ireland time) and had to wait until 3pm (which was an hour late for the rooms to be cleaned). We were expected to go tour a church at 10am after riding the plane from the evening into the late hours of the morning (3am chicago time).

One of the hotels we went to had the wrong information as to who was staying where. So that was a mess - and believe me after spending half the day in a bus, you just wanted to go shower and lay down.

Furthermore, the only request we made for our trip could not be granted. They didn't tell us this until after we could not receive a refund.

The last day of our trip was spent in a city that the bus driver told us was a bad area, and to not leave our hotel room at night. The only reason we were going there was canceled - so it made no sense that we left a perfectly good city and spent even more time on a bus and hauling our things around.

So overall, I would never go through them again.
