Located in Peoria Ill., Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity is a community action agency that promotes self-sufficiency and empowerment. It offers various services and programs, including family development, community services block grant, housing services and economic development programs. Its foster grandparent program provides intergenerational opportunities for seniors of age 60 and above and is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and Illinois Department on Aging. Its home rehabilitation services include roofing, siding, electrical and plumbing repairs, and repairs of walls and porches. It also provides emergency food vouchers to families and individuals for those who do not receive regular allotment of food stamps from the Illinois Department of Human Services.
