I'm a Wedding Coordinator who was hired by a bride and a groom for a recent wedding in Fall 2016 that was held at this venue. Proven Ground Farm is beautiful and unique. That aside, I would NOT recommend it. I was unable to perform the job I was hired for due to the owner who continued to take over. In addition, the other vendors (that I have worked with in the past) at the event were all frustrated as well since the she continued to interrupt them from performing the jobs they were hired to do as well. I'm not sure what is included in the package when you book an event here, but assume that if you have your wedding here it will be run by Shirley and per her vision for your day. She rushed the wedding rehearsal so it did not goes as smoothly as when I am able to do my job and run it myself.

I have heard from another bride who is having her wedding here soon that she has felt this way about the owner too, but appreciated that I confirmed her suspicions. She is now being extra cautious as she plans for her day.

If you want a beautiful venue and a controlling owner, it's a great choice. However, if you would like your vendors to be able to fulfill the position you are hiring them for, I would consider another venue that gives you more freedom.

I contacted this venue about a date. The owner was very rude. DO NOT get married here!!

Worst experience ever going to see the place and meet the owner. It was the most unprofessional woman I have ever met. She was so rude with everything she said. She spoke so fast and just acted as if I was wasting her time. They have NO liquor license. Anything I would ask she would be extremely rude. You would think it being your wedding and your money .. That she would be a little more accomadating and nice. Would NOT recommend

I also agree with the reviews below. I called & left voicemails, emailed, sent a Facebook message, as well as showed up on numerous occasions and they would not respond. I was looking for a baby shower on a Sunday afternoon, I finally got a response back a week later stating that they are booked every day of 2015. That is funny because I've been there on Friday's, Saturday's, and Sunday's so far and no one is ever there even though their hours clearly state they are open. They obviously do not want any business because they couldn't care less. I also had a family member call to try to get someone to answer, there was a woman who called her back and when my family member said the date she said "Yep, we're booked, should have thought about this sooner." The property looks like it is slowly becoming wore down, so I assume they have newer management that has no stake in the game. I was very disappointed and wouldn't rent from them even if they were available at this point because I would be concerned that they wouldn't even show up to unlock the building.

I agree with the girl below. I called looking for a venue for a friend a year ago and the owners acted completely uninterested and rude. This venue could make a killing if it had better management. Also-no alcohol permitted of any kind. Sad

Proven ground provided BY FAR the WORST service I have ever received. I am a bride looking for a reception venue and when I called to schedule an appointment to check out the venue and ask questions, they were nothing but unaccomidating and rude. When I was asked for a possible guest count I stated that I was planning on INVITING, not a final count but inviting somewhere around 175-230 guests and she responded with if you can't have under 150 don't waste my time and look at my venue . For a place that wants business they sure do not know how to treat their prospects. I would not suggest this venue to anyone, it is unkept and the ownership is terrible.
