Make sure that any nursing home that you put your elders in is not associated with Bane care. They took our Nana and these people broke her back, and gouged her arm with their finger nail down to the muscle. Now we find out that we can't even sue them because there are nonprofit. Stay away from them.

BROKEN BACK AT ROSEWOOD

In July of 2008, our mother was a rehab patient at Rosewoods in Peabody, MA. She stayed for 3 weeks, after having been at the North Shore Medical Center in Salem. From our first day to our last day, we can honestly repeat our Mom's words- "everyone is so kind, I can't pick one over the other!" ; "no matter when you call the nurses' button, you have someone who is very nice and willing to help!"; "I hate to bother them!"; "I'm probably one of their craziest persons to take care of!!!"; "The food is so delicious, I feel like I'm in a restauraunt!" and ...! We witnessed a staff of caring, highly-trained professionals who respected our Mom from the minute she was a patient there. On a daily basis, we felt our Mom was receiving the utmost care in a very dignified manner. When her day of being discharged came, we were very grateful and expressed how thrilled we were with her care.

In January of 2009, our mother returned to Rosewoods for a second time. It was so easy to be comfortable with her rehab placement because of our past experience. Once again, Mom felt safe and happy to be at Rosewoods. She still has the same medical conditions and we knew she would be receiving wonderful care. When we had the family meeting this time, the unknown was so much easier to deal with because of the support and professionalism each staff member displays on a daily basis. Things have become a little more complicated regarding where Mom will go after being discharged this time- there is no one book out there that takes you through the process of finding out about elderly care, assisted living facilities, and/or nursing home care. Each day as we visit with our Mom, we try our best to stay focused on her and her needs. The Rosewoods' staff provide a comfort zone for us as we try to handle the emotional roller coaster we are currently on. Our words of gratitude can best be summarized by saying. " The staff of Rosewoods have helped us to get through this daily experience with their love, compassion, support, and wonderful care of our Mother. They have guided us to understand what so many brochures talk about- to respect the reality of each patient in the present moment, not the family's reality, but the patient's reality in the most dignified, beautiful way. They have provided a "home away from home" atmosphere for our Mom. As I write this review, we are still not sure where our Mom will be upon discharge but we can honestly evaluate her rehab placements by expressing our appreciation " THANK YOU TO EVERYONE CONNECTED TO ROSEWOODS. WE CELEBRATE YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO. GOD BLESS EACH OF YOU TO CONTINUE YOUR CARE OF THE ELDERLY! Sometimes, our role as daughters has taken on a new and exciting meaning- we feel like writing a book entitled " ....a journey with Mom in this new chapter of her life at the age of 87. Rosewoods could be Chapter 1!
