Our mission is to encourage students of all ages and levels to experience the world of dance while gaining the benefits of high self-esteem, poise and physical well-being. Our staff is dedicated to providing quality instruction through positive reinforcement, while being actively involved in our student's physical/mental development as a dancer. In 2002, we began with a vision to create a superior, professional dance school within the Douglas County area. We continue that vision today. Housed within a beautiful dance studio, matched with elite instructors and low-cost tuition, Colorado School of Dance's program sets a high standard on dance education. Colorado School of Dance operates from a fully equipped, bright and lofty dance studio on Progress Way ( between Plaza and Longs Way ) in Parker, CO.

So many things wrong

The school is disorganized. Scheduling conflicts abound and the director simply says not to worry about those complaining parents. Silly parents. They only pay the bills. Who cares what they think, right?

The instruction has been really great and the teams did well at competitions. But instructors are leaving. Four employees gone in the last two months. Four more have given notice and are not coming back after last competition; including senior staff members and team directors, due to mismanagement by the owner.

Overcrowded. The parking lot is an accident waiting to happen with the congestion. The inside of the studio has hundreds of kids crammed in like sardines in a can. There is no personalization for anybody. But hey, the director has a nice huge office suite for herself and her assistant.

Hazardous environment. There has been a lot of discussion about the poor condition of the flooring. The director should have changed them out two years ago. It is quite sad to see so many children with injuries to knees/ankles/feet roaming the hallways and having to sit out of dancing because the director is stingy and bought cheap floors that don't absorb impact.

If you're still not convinced, go visit. Ask the director pointed questions about:

-- number of students that go through there in one week

-- the quality of the floors (are they shock absorbing?)

-- what has employee turnover been for the last 12 months

Then watch her squirm.
