I own a GMC 2500 HD truck. I was having an issue with a clanking noise especially while turning. I took my truck to 4 different places to find the issue. I even took the truck to the local Chevy/GM dealer in town and they told me I needed new leaf springs at a cost of $1500. Really, new leaf springs? I decided to have Mitchem Tire in Ozark look at the truck and Bill the manager had his technician Robert look at it. Robert was able to replicate the noise I was hearing and said it was defiantly coming from the rear leaf springs. He pinpointed exactly where on the springs the noise was coming from. Robert decided to see if GM had a service bulletin for this problem and sure enough he found that their was a bulletin for this exact noise. The noise was caused by worn leaf spring inserts. They ordered me the parts from the dealer and Mitchem charged me $228 parts & labor and it resolved my issue. The dealer didn't even look to see if their was a service bulletin and was going to charge me $1500 to replace the leaf springs. I was very impressed with Mitchem Tire, especially Robert. I would highly recommend Mitchem Tire, they know what they are doing when it comes to tires, suspensions and basic vehicle repairs. Thanks again to Robert & Bill at Mitchem Tire in Ozark.
