Pizza is good, pasta dishes even better, nuggets in garlic butter are the best.

This place has the big city feel but with the small town heart.... That aside your not gonna find a Better place to sit and eat some good food in Ottawa ..... Their deep dish pizza is truly amazing... And get their chicken bites :)

One thing Ottawa has in abundance is places to eat. R grotto is one of the best. Grotto has a very warm and appealing atmosphere inside, you almost feel like you are in a bistro in chicago, ALMOST. Lots of times A nice place turns into a dive after the newness wears off, happily grotto isnt one of those at all. No loud music or loud bar patrons disturb you while you eat and the TVs are not all playing sports,(nice) However a lack of parking is annoying so walking a block or two will help burn off some of the pizza you just banked.

The food is all very good, not great but it beats noodles in a cup anyday. The pizza isnt greasy or stingy on the toppings, the pasta is also good but can be mushy sometimes, and the subs are well lets say its hard to screw up cold cuts. Food comes out hot

The huge draw back is the service. The ladies are all nice and appealing however turn over means your order will sometimes get mixed up or forgotten and wait times can drag. 45 minutes for one pizza is normal and sometimes longer. Large groups will struggle to get in, breaking up into smaller groups sometimes helps.

Over all this is a good place to eat. Go here and enjoy but leave some extra time and bring some patience. Buy some drinks and appetisers either way you'll have a good time.
