So Sorry Nora P. That a incompetent so called " Vet" Theresa Harty yet again KILLED your dog, just like she murdered mine with her negligence, and what seems by her methods, her actions and delusional words, to be a danger to have in any medical setting or around animals. This is far from the first negative reviews by OTHERS than myself about Theresa Hasty Harming, Misdiagnosing, and killing . Hope Nora P did file a formal complaint with Licensing board. As well as the others I have seen writing about what she did to their animals!!!
And also name the receptionist who was the one involved in her dogs ashes being put under the desk . Believe me they are all involved in covering up the truth when it comes to the negligence there , the office manager Sue, Annie at front desk, Techs, All of them will cover their asses, and Theresa Hartys negligence, as Nora P found out with her dog, whom they rushed to cremation to hide evidence of Theresa Hartys negligence!!!!
Disgusting!!

Do NOT take your pet here! I took my dog because he wasn't eating or drinking and was very lethargic. They gave me antibiotics and pain pills. A few days later, he still could not eat or drink. They refused to see him saying I didn't give it enough time. I took him to another vet and my dog had a Tumor the size of your fist in his stomach!!! I just had to put my dog down :(

Dr. Avis and the staff at Tomoka Pines are amazing. We switched vets about a year ago and have never been happier. They are all so great with our dogs every time we go there. The facility is always clean and well maintained. They are friendly and professional and always make it easy to schedule appointments and/or see us quickly in an emergency. I would recommend them to everyone.

My female Belgain Malinois had a congenital defect where her vulva was recessed which resulted in back to back infections. Dr Long surgically corrected the defect and my dog no longer has infections. The surgical site looks like a plastic surgeon did the operation. I am totally happy with the surgery and the cost incurred.

Dr Harty recalled helped my cats

I saw the negative review of Dr Harty and had to share my experiences. She was the only vet to diagnose an autoimmune disorder one of my cats had. She scoped the throat of another and provided a diagnosis that helped save him. She did a dental procedure on a 23 year old cat with advanced renal failure and gave him 6 months of quality life. No other vet would even attempt this and we gladly paid for precautionary measures to be taken, that she recommended that worked. Dr Harty didn't sugarcoat his chances, and told us it could even kill him, but he pulled through. She's smart, caring, and was a godsend to my family and our pets. I realize the other person was in pain losing a beloved pet, but me and my family have always actively sought Dr Harty because of her knowledge and caring. She even treated our last adoptee at Tomoka Pines who had serious psychological issues and is doing well 2 years later because of Dr Harty. Vets aren't Gods and can't perform miracles with all seriously ill animals, but Dr Harty always did well for us no matter how difficult the issue was.

First, I am a crazy when it comes to my dogs (Duke & Bailey-boxers) and can be a little , no a lot demanding when it comes to their health!! I'm a whatever it takes person to make sure they are happy and healthy, with that said, Dr.Long and his staff have gone above and beyond in their care of my dogs. I have called 4-5 times a day , and they are always helpful, Dr.Long always returns calls and has been available to me for any questions or advice. I have seen 2 other vets in the area and they were good, but, I think Tomoka Pines is great, from the office staff (filling my insurance -getting me in to see the Dr at the last minute), techs (putting up with rowdy dogs) to Dr.Long and his concern and bedside manner with me!

Do NOT trust Dr. Harty with your pets. The story below, about a cat named Lana, is true. My Sami (an Australian Shepherd) was also given medically negligent treatment by Harty and died as a result. She dosed him with a drug that is known to cause liver failure in dogs over the age of 7--Sami was ELEVEN. She also incorrectly diagnosed him as having an allergic reaction when I told her he was having a seizure (later confirmed post-mortem). She ignored my wishes, she ignored the fact that I knew my dog best, and she dosed him with a drug that caused his liver to fail. At that time, she sent him home, despite my repeated statements that I could tell he was NOT okay. He died an hour later in my arms. Post-mortem, the vet hospital lost his body, and upon finally receiving a call that they had his ashes ready for pick-up, I found out that the receptionist was storing his memorial urn ON THE FLOOR under her DESK by her FEET. How disrespectful can you get!!! Then, to rub salt in the wound, they continued to mail me reminders to have his annual check-ups and shots done for almost a year after they killed him. Seriously??? I filed a complaint with the DBPR and it is pending review; I am also pursuing the matter in civil court. DO NOT TRUST THERESA HARTY WITH YOUR PETS' LIVES.

Our cat Baby was spayed today. Everything went excellent. We have been using Tomoka Pines for over 9 years. They are very compasionate, caring and wonderful people. They treat your pet with so much love and kindness. 6 Years ago we had to put our sweet cat Stinky down, and they were so professional, and gave us time alone with her before she was put down.. They were gentle and just so wonderful and respected how sad my husband and I were. Now with a 3 year old Cat named Sable, and our new addition Baby, we will continue to take them to Tomoka........ They are fantastic!!!!!

EXCELLENT! COMPASSIONATE CARE!

We recently moved to Florida from New York with our 5 year old Pitbull/Boxer mix, and one of our major concerns was to find a Veterinary Clinic that showed the same kind of Compassionate, Quality Pet care that we had received in New York. It took us a while, and we visited many Veterinary Clinics before we found TOMOKA PINES VETERINARY HOSPITAL, and we are sooooo glad we did! Dr. Long and Dr. Carnathan are compassionate and thorough and committed to providing the best care options available to your pet! The Staff is Courteous, Caring, Gentle, and always makes my dog (and us) feel like family. I would recommend TOMOKA PINES VETERINARY HOSPITAL to everyone who wants to provide high quality care for the life of their pet and be confident that the staff is on your side, and truly cares for the well being of your pet! LOVE TOMOKA PINES!!!!!!!
