White Castle Meat Processing is owned by the White Castle fast food restaurant chain. The meat processing plant is one of three facilities in Zanesville, Ill., Lebanon and the Orleans, Ind. The meat is processed as 100 percent pure USDA meat then processed into frozen blocks. It is ground to White Castle s specifications and formed into square frozen meat patties and then shipped to White Castle's more than 348 restaurants across the Midwest and Northeast. The combined capacity for the current meat plants is more than 40 million pounds. At full operation, the Orleans plant will have a 15 million pound capacity. The plant will employ 35 people initially, and at full capacity can employ 50 people. White Castle also operates its own bakeries in Evendale, Ohio, Carteret, N.J. and Renssalaer, Inc. Its frozen food production facilities are located in Louisville and Covington, Ky.
