The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is one of the leading women s health care providers, educators and advocates that serves individuals throughout the United States. Located in Orlando, Fla., the organization provides health care services and medically accurate information, as well as advances effective health policies. Established in 1916, it operates more than 850 health centers and educates Americans about sexual and reproductive health, as well as pregnancy counseling. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is also a founding member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation, which is based in London. The organization serves as a bridge for small- and medium-size organizations in developing countries to connect with resources and expand services. It also supports a program to address issues, such as sexual violence and sexually transmitted diseases.
