I have been a patient of Dr. Wieners on and off for several years, as need necessitated. I find him most effective in his counseling skills. He, as any professional, has his own style. I know that I have his undivided attention throughout the session. A therapist is a guide, but an essential component of therapy is the work a person puts into resolving their issues outside of the clinical setting. It's easy to assign problems to others, but self responsibility is essential. He is sensitive to my issues and remembers content of each session, following up in helping me identify question and concerns. I view counseling as being a dynamic process of learning, application, and problem solving rather than dealing with individual parts of the problem as ends in themselves. That is one of Dr. Wiener's strengths.
