They have lots of junked cars but -- based on my limited experience -- they're not in much hurry to get rid of anything in their yards. There were several people standing around who appeared to be working there. I was the only cusstomer in sight.

When I walked in I was given the once over, then had to wait for them to acknowledge my presence. Even then had to excuse myself and interrupt their conversation to ask for the part needed. Without checking their inventory, their response was "no don't have one" then they resumed their conversation. Makes me wonder what they're in business for, or what keeps them in business - it apparently doesn't have much to do with selling parts from their precious junk cars. Maybe there is a secret code or something. I generally give people the benefit of doubt, but there was no doubt in this case.

Not to be deterred, and because I really needed one, I was brazen enough to ask if they could get one, which seemed like an awful imposition on my part. They said they could get it and then quoted an exorbiant amount. I had to have one, so agreed. They charged me too much for such wonderful service.

Will never return, even though I live close, and use salvage yards several times a year.

I don't like doing this to the business people where I live, but in this case I now consider it worth it just to drive to Caldwell and Nampa.

I've dealt with North Verde on a few occasions before I got to know how they operate. If they think you're not mechanically inclined then they will try to overcharge you. I needed a replacement radiator fan for my Saturn. They wanted $30 for their used, dirty radiator fan - I picked up a brand new one at the parts store in town for $27.
