The company has subsidiaries and joint ventures located in Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Michigan, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Nebraska. The company has four joint venture cooperative dairy arrangements. For each, Prairie Farms serves as the managing partner, with other partners responsible for raw milk supply. Joint Venture partners include Hiland Dairy Foods in Springfield, Mo.; Roberts Dairy in Omaha, Neb.; Muller Pinehurst Dairy in Rockford, Ill.; and Ideal American in Evansville, Ind. Prairie Farms Dairy subsidiaries include Ice Cream Specialties, a manufacturer and distributor of all types of frozen treats; and PFD Supply, a primary one-stop distributor of products to fast food outlets. Prairie Farms, founded in 1938, maintains operations in Olney, Ill.
