The Oklahoma History Center is a more than 200,000-square-foot learning center and museum that explores Oklahoma s history of geology, transportation, commerce, culture, aviation and heritage. It has over 1,500 artifacts and books on nearly 40 topics. The museum has five galleries that feature audio, video and computer activities. The Oklahoma History Center also offers oilfield exhibits and walking tours. In addition, it provides exhibition packages of artifacts, photographic images and interpretive text on rent. The museum offers guided museum tours, living history presentations, teaching classes and education trunks. The Oklahoma History Center has a built-in stage, rear projection screen, wireless audio, remote-controlled video and variable lightings. It also hosts various weddings, receptions, family reunions, birthday parties, meetings and seminars. The museum additionally provides food and beverages at the Winnie Mae Caf . Located in Oklahoma City, the Oklahoma History Center is a part of the Oklahoma Historical Society, which collects, preserves and shares the history of Oklahoma.
