Odessa Automotive Repair opened its doors 1968 in a 3 bay automotive garage. Inception of the new Missouri Vehicle Inspection program fostered community awareness. Constructing a 60' X 80' building in 1972 returned the business to its diesel repair roots. Longstanding employees have contributed to the continuity and stability of service. Shop manager Donald Johnson has been with the company for 30 plus years. 1980 brought Gerald Gittinger, John's son, as a full time tech. Gerald now servers as CIO and general manager. 1990 saw John buying his partners interest in the business. John quickly added an alignment machine and doubled the building size. Gerald and John envisioning the future of computers in diesel engine control became the first shop in the area to invest in OEM scanner technology. Finding the need for mobile service prompted the inclusion of a 20 foot rolling shop. In October of 2017, Gerald purchased the shop from his father, John, and is now the sole owner and operation.

One of the Premier shops in the Region (KC Metro Area)

Excellent, trustworthy shop; we've been satisfied customers for over 20 years. We willingly drive roughly 50 miles (each way) from South Kansas City to ODR for service, for that reason. Family owned and operated they consistently provide honest, reliable, concientious service and support for all of our motor vehicles. We've tried others over the years and continue to return because we can find none better. One of the premier shops in this region!

Not a good experience at Odessa Diesel

I do not recommend Odessa Diesel Repair. I brought my fleet trucks to them for maintenance and was not happy with their service. I still had the same problems with my trucks, and then some. Some repairs they did were most likely unnecessary. I had several concerns on several occasions on the repairs not being done adequately and on overcharging on hourly labor, and they did nothing to make things right. I will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. They just take your hard earned money.
