The Oceanside Unified School District serves more than 22,000 students in over 20 elementary, middle and high schools. It also operates charter and alternative educational facilities. The district has nearly 2,000 employees, including teachers and support personnel. Its elementary physical education program focuses on fitness, structured sports and skills development. The district s middle schools offer more than 20 competitive sports for boys and girls. Its high schools offer advanced-placement courses in statistics, calculus, biology, chemistry, Spanish, French, economics and psychology. The district also offers career technical courses in automotive technology, woodworking, drafting, accounting, computer applications and biotechnology. Located in Oceanside, Calif., the district provides a range of special education, food and health services. The Oceanside Unified School District is also a member of the North Coast Consortium for Special Education.
