I have made alot of trips and calls and to the people at this place and told my lost chihuahua might be there and went i get there .am told that he wasjust adoted or that they have no chihuahuas ..And the rips my heart out he not only is my pet but my baby ....I would tell anyone dealing with the Humane Society to just give up on ur beloved baby because you will not see them again .
because it don't matter if someone stole my baby if he gets turned in they don`t anwser ads for missing babies

I met my dog here and lost him. When I got him I fell in love. They told me he ran away from his last owner and they didn't want him back. I didnt think much of it because I thought most pounds were full of strays. We had him for 3 years. He was a lab who my whole family got close to. yes he got away once in a while and was like hydeni. I thought he could be on dog shows cuz could run super fast and jump high. He was the sweetest dog and never harmed any one. One day he got away and this pound got him. They put him asleep and told me that they can't lend him out cuz he's been there too many times as being a runner. They took him away from me 2 years ago I never got to tell him good bye. They had no shame at all and didn't give me any warning. So I rate them 1 star for giving us the best dog ever and taking him away from us. Such a waste of a great dog

We drove from Crystal River to visit and look for a dog. We found one but wanted to see if the dog we had would get along with it, We were told we would have to come back with papers on our dog to prove vacinations. The collar tag was not good enough. In order to make sure the dog would be there the next day we would have to leave a $25 deposit which we were told would be refundable. We came back the next day with all the paperwork and were told we had no proof our dog was taking heartguard, even though the papers showed negative heartworm test in Jan 2013. We were then told that until we could adopt the dog, a home visit would be necessary. OK if you want to make the 40 mi. drive one way, but we do not intend to make the trip again, and again. A "Sonny" then told us we could not have our $25 deposit back, because we changed our mind. Primarily due to the attitude, especially of this Sonny. The dog never left the shelter and we just got swindled out of $25 . Would not recommend this place to anyone

My experience with this shelter was very possitive. I surrendered an abandoned dog to them in hopes of the animal finding a loving home. I found the staff to be very caring and the facility to be clean and well run. All the animals were well cared for and in clean and safe living conditions. I had dropped in unannounced on three occassions to see the dog I had left in their care and found him to be well and happy. He was adopted in a short time I am happy to say! My thanks to all at the Humane Society!

I had a very godd experience there. 4 years ago my family and I went in just looking. Then we passed by an old labrador retriver. he was huge. I then asked to have some time with the old boy and we wound up falling in love with him! Rok is now living a very happy life and we are so grateful for all the help the staff gave us. Rok now goes for monthly checkups at the shelter!
