I found Julian online as most would. He came by shortly after I called to give an estimate to strip, stain, and reseal my stamped concrete pool deck. Approximately 1000 Sq Ft. I asked his for a written estimate and insurance document but instead of getting it he just showed up and started power washing. After the power washing there was still some old sealant remaining but he said not to worry we’ll use acid to remove. I asked when he’ll be back but he didn’t know. In two days he comes back without calling again but now I’m not home. When I returned home I find the whole pool deck has blotches and spots from where the stain did not stick to the old sealant that was not removed. The deck looks terrible. I contacted Julian about the concern and he made an appointment to see it on a Thursday but he was a no show, than we made an appointment on Friday again a no show, we than made an appointment for Saturday morning and as expected another no show. He ended up coming in the after with a worker. After looking at it he states that the problem was my fault due to the sealant I used in the past. So rather than stopping after realizing the sealant could not be removed he moved forward with staining with a darker color which made the old sealant of a lighter color pop. I asked for an invoice of the completed work with his insurance information multiple times and he won’t provide it. As others have stated he seems to be a nice guy but he has no respect for his customer’s time, did an extremely poor job on my pool deck, and is not taking responsibility. I was trying to save a few dollars using him and now I hear there is no fixing the problem. My options are to paint over my stamped concrete or bust the whole pool deck out and start new. I caution any one that is planning to use this contractor.
