 When the first or second bone of the neck is misaligned, it can create pressure around the brainstem which has far reaching effects leading to pain and illness. Once the misalignment has been determined, the doctor will position the patient on a special table called the knee chest table. The patient’s head will be positioned appropriately and the doctor will put pressure at the appropriate segment and perform the correction. 

Sometimes there is a dramatic popping sound as

the bone is repositioned off of the brainstem,

sometimes no sound is heard. The correction is

determined by a device that measures the

brainstem’s activity called a Tytron paraspinal

infrared thermographer. There is no jerking or

twisting involved in the correction and it is very

safe when performed by a trained doctor.
