The workers at this place have always been incredibly grumpy and rude whenever we've stopped in for some dog food. After one particularly bad experience, I vowed not to go back. Just the other day, I broke my own rule and stopped in to get my dog groomed before leaving on vacation.

This is the WORST place to ever get your dog groomed. My dog was the cutest dog before walking through that door to get a botched haircut.

I specifically asked them- PLEASE LEAVE HER FACE HAIR LONG and DO NOT SHAVE HER!

And guess what they did- they shaved her body and made her look like a overgrown rat!

being that I am very particular about my dog- and care about how she looks like I am SHOCKED anyone would ever write a remotely positive review about this place.

I worked so hard to keep my dog cute and maintained and within a few hours...all that work over 2 years is GONE!!!

HEED MY WARNING- DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR Shi-Tzu there..EVER!@!!!!

or any dog that has longer hair..YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

I'm the fool for giving Doggie Style a second chance. NEVER AGAIN!

I struggle to even give this place 1 star. The groomer that is there now, is terrible. Who wants to see a girl walking around looking like she be at the gym not grooming a dog. She is trashy and a terrible groomer. The customer is terrible. If you need to return something that don't let you. There are TWO different policies- one on the reciept and one on the wall. NOT THE SAME.

This business is deceptive wit...

This business is deceptive with its return policies (printing one thing on the receipt and another on a small hidden sign behind the register) and very rude to its customers. If they would've done right by me and issued a store credit, I probably would've spent even more than the original $75. Instead, they lost a customer and earned an enemy.

They sold us a case of expired dog food. When we tried to return it they only had expired dog food. Would not return money and blamed us for not being reasonable. They finally got the dog food from another store and told us not to come back. One of the owners "Howard", I know that is not his real name but, that is what he said his name was, is a real piece of work. This guy has no concept of the meaning of customer service. He treats his human customers badly so I can't imagine what he does to animals. This guy, Howard, is rude and not very bright. Do yourself a favor and go else where. It is not worth the hassle of doing business with this guy. BOTTOM LINE: Give your business/hard-earned $$ to someone else!!

It will be a cold day in hell ...

It will be a cold day in hell before I ever bring an animal to this place for grooming again.

I had my cat there once before a year prior for a Lion cut (he has insanely long hair extremely thick hair that causes some vicious hair balls, I feel so bad I occasionally get him shaved). Now to describe my cat and I'm really not exaggerating he's more like a dog. He loves to be touched, held, petted and overall treated like a baby doll.

The first time he went everything was fine. I dropped him off early in the morning and picked him up that afternoon. I explained what I wanted to the girl, she did a great job and all of the groomers gushed over how beautiful and friendly and loving he was. It was a positive experience.

So a year passes and I decide its time to take him for another hair cut. So I call up doggie style in North Wales for another appointment. A impatient woman answers the phone takes some information down and says its not a problem to drop my cat off but he has to be in early in the morning.

Like before, not a issue, we were spending that day moving and I figured, drop him off at 9 AM he'd be done in the afternoon, more then enough time for a quick bite to eat and move a few things into the new place so he won't freak out as much.

Oh boy was I wrong. When I came in at 9 the girl at the counter looked at me flustered.

"We absolutely can not groom your cat."

I just stared at her, my cat in one hand, his rabies paperwork as required in the other.

"We don't groom cats."

What?

I calmly explained I called, made an appt. and verified it was for a cat. The woman then repeats, well we don't do cats now, but she'll make an exception this one time.

We stopped at a place for a quick bite to eat when my cell phone rings about 25 minutes later. The woman on the phone is literally screaming at me, "YOU NEED TO COME GET YOUR -FELINE- RIGHT NOW!"

"We do not service -felines- in our grooming facilities. You are to come get him immediately or we will be turning him over to animal control."

"WHAT?! How dare you, we had an agreed upon business transaction. Why are you threatening me?"

"I'm the store general manager and I'll do as I please. Come get you cat immediately." Click she hangs up.

I arrive at the store to find the first woman from the grooming area I'd talk to looking like she'd been crying and holding my cats carrier and a piece of paper. I give her an apologetic look then take my cat and proceed to leave after ensuring he's not harm. I was concerned because it looked like someone had started to bath him and never finished he had what felt like soap in his hair that was wet and matting in areas now. (this was also in December and quite cold outside) Tell me how you cut my cats lip open if you were only bathing the cat? Blood dripping down into the carrier.

As I approach the doors a angry woman who claims to be the manager steps in front of me and tells me I need to see the cashier and thrusts a piece of paper at me. The paper was a bill for $40 for "washing" my cat.

I tell her to screw off I'm leaving.

She demands I pay for the washing. Now at this point I'm getting pretty hot, I've got a day of moving ahead of me, I now need to wash my poor probably terrified cat myself, and I'm being extorted for money.

So the first time in this whole ordeal I've raised my voice I tell her, I'm not paying, and if she doesn't let me leave I'm calling the police to report she's unlawfully detaining me and then I'm pressing charges for animal abuse for cutting my cat and leaving my cat covered in soap that could harm him.

Taken aback she steps out of the way and I leave.

I never got her name, I don't really care. But I HIGHLY recommend against their grooming services and I avoid this doggie style at all costs.

I made a horrible decision to ...

I made a horrible decision to take my Maltese puppy here to be groomed. She was completely rattled after coming here and sadly and regrettably after coming back few visits I realized how rough they actually were with her. While waiting for my sweet girl to be finished I saw how rough the girl was with another dog. To say the least I grabbed my dog and NEVER visited this "groomer" again. On this final visit not only was my dog traumatized but her hair was also chopped up! She looked so bad that I had to take scissors to her myself and try to even her out. I ended up having to take her to another groomer a week later to get the job done correctly which cost me $60 dollars on top of the $45 I spent here. I asked they don't cut her nails.... of course they didn't listen and cut her nails really short. They never called me when she was finished but they said she was going too. The employee who DIDN"T do the grooming, and who I WASNT EVEN SPEAKING TO, literally jumped down my throat about me using a doggie style purchased leash & prong collar. I had to put my hand up and say back off.. Seriously - who asked her opinion? I never said a word to even let her know her opinion was warranted. My dog is a social butterfly - she loves visiting the petstore and vets and the groomers. But something happened when she was getting groomed. She is a sensitive dog but never have I seen her so upset before. She couldn't wait to leave the store.

I wish I could give this doggie style store zero stars. I've never been to a pet store where the employees know so little about pets AND customer service. I've been there twice, but never again. Both times I was treated so poorly at the cashier (not so much as a smile or a, "How are you?"-- in fact, neither spoke a single word throughout the transactions). It is dirty and disgusting and it stinks (even for a pet store). I will never go back.

I was in Doggie Style over the...

I was in Doggie Style over the weekend to buy a few items for the kids. Tired of the high school kids that don't give a crap attitude, obscence prices and less then knowledgable staff.

The staff just seems to be standing around chatting. It's difficult to find help--and the staff isn't knowledgeable enough to really be helpful.

I am appalled with this place! GREEDY!!! I've never written a bad review but this place drove me to it. When my boyfriend and I moved to North Wales, we were psyched because they carried Fromm dog food. We were used to buying it from a place in Bensalem (Pets Plus). which sells it for $5 less. We had asked the salesperson if they can match the price and she assured us more then once that if we kept our receipt from the other shop, they will pricematch. That's exactly what we did, we bought the food again, kept the receipt and when ready I walked into Doggie Style to get the food. The girl this time, looked puzzled. She called the owner and the owner told her over the phone that it's not true and he will not honor his employee's promise. The manager was rude and didn't have a clue on what she was doing.

Too bad for us I guess or maybe too bad for Doggie Style. Not only did they just lose a purchase from us every 10 days but they will never see a penny from US or from our friends. Not for treats, toys or food! we are making our purchases from Pets Plus in Lansdale area. they have no problem delivering and they do not request a minimum. They do less volume and do not feel the need to be greedy.

This pet store is the best in ...

This pet store is the best in the area by FAR. What sets this place apart is not really the things they sell, it's the people who work there. They are SO nice and they really, truly love pets. Like others have noted, they are knowledgeable and helpful. They have monthly adoption events.

I had a bunch of questions when it came to switching my dog food from a regular store brand to one of their quality brands, and was blown away by the level of service the store employee provided me.

He was able to answer all my questions and I found his recommendations extremely helpful!

I work right around the corner and will frequent often! Very awesome place! Love the variety of treats and toys!

On the recommendation of a nei...

On the recommendation of a neighbor, I brought my 4.5 month Shih Tzu/Bichon mix here for a puppy cut/grooming this morning. Leeloo has not been appreciative of our efforts at home to keep her clean and her hair out of her eyes, so I was really hopeful that Doggie Style's gentle approach would work for her.

When I walked in at 9:00 am, I was enthusiastically greeted by the employee at the front counter and didn't have to wait long for her groomer to come out, get down on the floor, and snorgle my pup. I showed the groomer a couple of photos, specified that we wanted her to be comfortable on warm days and stop rubbing at her face, while keeping some scruffy charm.

Around 11 am, I got a call letting me know that she was ready and that she had been a really good girl. The staff there were kind, helpful, and made me feel really comfortable. Leeloo, who has yet to meet a stranger, seems to not even notice that her coiffeur has changed. She's the same happy little girl. Also, she smells awesome. I went ahead and made a second appointment for early June.

They only charged me for a puppy cut based on her age and the fact she still has a puppy coat, and were up front about the fact that the amount for grooming will change as she and her coat matures. I was expecting to pay more, so was pleased with what was charged. A good local business with fair prices. Thanks!

Absolutely Fabulous. When our ...

Absolutely Fabulous. When our little girl first started getting groomed here she was shaking like a leaf. She was a rescue and we were warned that she hated the groomers. No one could cut her face hair safely. Jennifer told us it would take a while, but she worked with her patiently and now she goes through the process without a peep.

Zubie is my child, I would not trust her with anyone else. If you love your dogs like they are your children you will be happy with the care they get here

Don't go here. My dog received awful grooming...they actually completely shaved off a part of his coat...and his nail was cut so short that his nail was bleeding. The 18 year old manager didn't even apologize and didn't even care. I wouldn't ever go back to this horrific place.

The grooming here is phenominal. I love the fact that they also adopt out rescued dogs and cats! The rooms are always so clean and the animals so spoiled. I have to say the best thing about this store is the store cat Ben! He is so lovable and friendly and always gives me kisses when i pet him. The employees are helpful and most of the time know what they are talking about.

The employees are very knowledgeable and very willing to help you when you need something special. They sell deer antlers, that are great. When they first suggested it, I was a little bothered by the thought of my pup chewing on a deer's antler, but he loves them and its his new fave thing. They also have grooming, which is convienent, I can go shopping while my pup is being spruced up, and they do a really good job.
