Brought my car in for an exaust leak. Instead of fixing the leak like I asked they charged my 100$ diagnostic fee- then proceeded to tell me I needed new spark plugs and had a burnt out coil. When I inquired about the original issue, my exaust leak, they told me to take the car downtown to get if fixed; that they hardly tampered with exhausts. (Would have been nice to know when I booked the appointment. I would have gone elsewhere and saved myself 100$)

Anyway- back to the burnt out coil and spark plugs. I was given an estimate of 950 dollars to take care of those and a tune up.

When I inquired what the hell would cost that much the woman at the counter started talking in circles. We tried to add the costs up with her and she repeated the same things multiple times. Even with her blaintently lieing and duplicating labor/part fees her synopsis still didn't add up to more than 500$.

Anyway- I ended up buying the parts for 80$ worth of parts and an hour's time in a garage and my car was all fixed. Many of the additional bells and whistles they told me needed replacement were still brand new. (Boots, wires, ect) I learned that the owner was previously military and it makes me sad that his shop is collecting from innocent people. I understand you have to make your money but up-charging 800$ is unreal. Nothing like taking care of your own.
