My name is larry and i am an avid fisherman and used to have great respect for Herbs Bait and Tackle. Empahsis on USED TO HAVE GREAT RESPECT. I always would go there and buy bait and tackle. I purchased an Ugly Stick along with about 50 dollars worth of other tackle one day. As i was bending the rod to secure my hook into the eye of the pole for safe travel the pole snapped at the top about 4 inches snapped off I called Herbs on a sunday morning exlained what had happened and told to bring the pole in As soon as I walked i the door of the store i was Verbally Assultes by this elderly woman She did not even give me a chance to explain and stated that she did not just talk to me on the phone Ok i said WTF and held my temper that is until she continued Verbally Assaulting me and stated that i definitely am not getting another pole. She continued to insultme and stated that i shouldnt bend a fishing pole At this point i was irate now and asked her WTF does a fishing pole do when you have a large fish on it !!!! OF COURSE IT BENDS !!! This lady offered to put a tip on my pile ans charge me for it WTF !!!## I thoroughly l wet her have a piece of my mind and stated that i would tell anyone thatI encounter about how i was insulted and mistreated ti make a long story short I told her where she couls stick her pole ans business In addition because of the way that Herbs rings up your sale when you purchase something there is just one total charge for everything purchased No itemization in other words the receipt does not have a transaction for me purchasing the Ugly Stick. thus i am not even able to send the pole back to the manufacturer ! So i am stuck with a 35 dollar useless pole. The morale to the story is FIRE THAT OLD LADY AND HERBS WILL BE A NUCH BETTER PLACE TO SHOP. they have definitely lost my business and i tell every veteran at perry point and every person i know of how i was disrespected In. Additiin i am going to do some research and see if it is legal to ring up your purchases with out itemization because you are S O L if you have to return somethig because the receipt is just one charge no items listed. A VERY DISAPPONITED EX CUSTOMER. PLUS WEST MARINE HAS GREAT STUFF THATS WHERE I SHOP NOW

HERB is the most honest person i ever met.if everyone in the world were like these people it would be an awesome place to live.these people don't even know me.i stop every year to get supplies.they hav the answer for every question u hav .my name is ROD Y.from PA.

I am not from the area and have never fished for Stripers before. Mike answered all of my questions about bait, line set up, etc. I have never spent a dime with them and they treated me like I was a long-standing customer. As a result, any time I need anything when in North East I will be seeing them to get it. Amazing customer service in a day when that normally isn't the case.

Great tackle shop and very friendly and helpful.

These people know fishing. Good selection, & reasonable prices. I have used their service for many year & hope to use it for many more. On the bad side parking a truck & boat during the season to run in & get live bait is a pain but the bait is fresh. HNK 51
