Founded in 1998, Youth Empowerment Services is a nonprofit, community-based organization that focuses on empowering youths, families and communities to comprehend and practice decision making skills. Its REACH program includes character building, conflict resolution, basic skills tutoring, adult and peer mentoring, and life skills and service learning, as well as entrepreneurship, nutrition and health training services. The organization also conducts the Virtues In Practice (V.I.P) program, which provides team building activities and etiquette training, positive peer pressure handling and parental support services. Its summer leadership camp empowers youths between the ages of 11 to 15 to avoid at-risk behaviors and discover and use their true talents. Youth Empowerment Services is comprised of more than 50 volunteers. The organization is located in North Charleston, S.C.
