LEASE ISSUES



1) I am paying for 10 full months worth of rent to live here. I am only allowed to live here 8 months and 3 weeks. They have you start paying two months before your move in date and you can stop paying rent before your move out month. I’m sure YA has an official reason for this, but it seems like it’s also utilized to sweep under the rug the fact that they’re running away with your money. Because unless you “pay as you go” you would never realize you’re paying for more than you’re residing there.



2) Move out day is May 7. May 7 is the day I am walking at ISU graduation. It is the day after finals are over. ALSO you have to pay for the entire month of May even though you can only live there for a week.



3) Utilities. They say utilities are included but that there’s a cap and any overages are your responsibility. They give you a tiny allowance knowing full well you WILL go over it. Utilities are not included. Utilities are helped out with.

The customer service was terrible they were very rude and unprofessional.Upkeep on apartment are filthy upon moving in my apartment was filthy and also to many issues with bugs in the apartment .There problems regarding the billing and charges and also the disputes men of funds.All sprung terrible experience apartments are not worth the price and customer service is very awful.

Worst realty company ever, moved in and everything was in terrible condition. They put no effort into turning it into an acceptable condition. Fined us for every little thing they could find. I would think twice before signing a lease with these people. Don't make the mistake that I did.

!ATTENTION PROPERTY OWNERS! Young America rented my very nice home in Bloomington to a couple with children who trashed my house before they were evicted on Feb. 29. The property manager assured me that extra care would be taken to make sure that my property would be rented to highly qualified tenants. Instead, my home was leased to a couple with a credit score of 532, had previously declared bankruptcy, owed thousands in consumer debt, and only paid rent twice on time between Sept. 20 and Feb. 29. They had to be evicted due to nonpayment of rent and their wages garnished to get the rent out of them. My house was left in deplorable condition. The walls had been drawn on with permanent marker, the carpet was ruined because they ground in chalk, wax, and oil into them, the blinds were broken, and so was tile. I specifically told the agent that there were to be absolutely not pets on the premises, but the tenants had a pit bull who chewed a door. The trim was pulled away in places and the walls were covered with filth, including chocolate milk poured down a wall. They left behind all kinds of furniture, piles of garbage, including beer cans, empty cigarette packs, and pizza boxes in the closet. They left rotting food in the refrigerator and on the counter. They broke the window blinds and tore the window screens. It cost me almost $2500 dollars to return it to liveable condition, but I still have not replaced the carpeting. The tenants also took a garage door opener, a full length mirror, and a fire pit. They also attempted to steal the microwave, but they couldn't get it off the wall. If you value your property, do not allow Young America to lease it for you!
