Skinnies Records is my very favorite and one of the heaviest music stores of its kind on the entire East Coast..From hard to find music such as Metal,Hard Core,Punk,Classic Rock and Blues artists to cool band T shirts,Stickers,Buttons,Posters,Spiked wrist bands,Bullet belts and Back patches..Skinnies Records even has name brand guitar strings and picks..Me and my wife have been shopping there for about 6 years now and love the friendly music oriented atmosphere and the nostalgic feel the store has..Steve will even special order something for you and he even carries local band cds as well..If you are ever in the Norfolk,Va area stop by and check out the store..Its the one with the cool neon sign in the window...Yngwie Malmsteen,Lemmy(Motor Head) and Randy(Lamb Of God) have been known to stop by on occassion..I always say: If you cant find anything at Skinnies Records upon your visit then you arent looking hard enough..Skinnies Records Rock!!

Just found this place and LOVE IT! One of the last true record shops. Incredible selection of punk and hard to find music, patches, t shirts and a selection of used cds. They even sell vinyl albums. I MISS places like this! If you're into music you've GOT to check this place out.

Most Overpirced Store Ever

Everytime I travel to a new town I always look for record stores to hit up since I'm a huge vinyl fanatic. Upon arriving at Skinnie's I was super excited because walking into the store I knew they primarily catered to the heavy metal/punk crowd. The store had quite a bit of viny which I immediately started looking through. I couldn't believe the prices that this guy was asking for his records. He was selling records for 2 to 3 times what they would go for on Ebay, which is generally a bidding war and overpriced marketplace. A good example would be the copy of Slayer-Seasons in the Abyss that was not sealed and not even in mint condition. Ole Skinnie was trying to sell this record for $80!!! Unreal, this record goes for half that on Ebay, if not less. This was just the beginning of Skinnie's high priced record charade. Nothing like trying to get $18 for a used copy of AC/DC-Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap that belongs in a thrift store 99 cent bin. Don't go to this place unless you like paying high prices to someone who doesnt seem overly friendly to begin with.
