Nanston Dental put a new front tooth crown on six years ago. Recently, the crown came loose. I did not damage the crown in any way; it just became loose one day. I went to my dentist in Charlotte NC where I have since moved. Apparently, Nanston's doctor used my dead tooth stub as the post rather than inserting a strong post that was big enough to withstand the pounding. Because my dead tooth post was so small the interior of it disintegrated and it could not support the crown anymore. Long story short...I had to have a whole new crown remade because the old crown could not be used with the new post. My insurance company will only pay for a new crown after 8 years. I called Nanston over a month ago to discuss this with them. The lady I talked to was pleasant and said that her supervisor would call me. I have not heard anything from them to this point. If their dentist had used the proper post, I would not be out $1400.

I received a letter demanding payment of $6 otherwise nothing other than emergency service would be provided. The $6 balance is almost a year old and exists because of a still unresolved dispute between Nanston and the insurance company over what the correct contract rate is.

My child can't get her teeth cleaned at this dentist because of a year long arguement over $6.

If you're looking for a dentist, keep looking.....You'd do better to find a dentist who values quality service and thinks the dental health of its patients is worth more to them than $6.
