I like getting paid for scraps that would otherwise get dumped at a landfill. I bring in a couple of buckets of things like old cords, scrap metal, and rusty nails every few months. I park near the building and usually someone will offer to help me carry the scrap to the building. When my husband recycles bags of aluminum cans, he pulls his truck onto the scale, then he pulls up and empties the scrap, then he drives back around to get reweighed. This is an easy way to recycle, help ease the dumping at the landfills, and get paid for it.

wrong wrong wrong

O.k.. I am a girl and new at the whole scrap thing. But I about 99% sure I know difference between copper, brass and aluminum by now. I had a few of each of those metals (my total came to 2.25) but when I gave the tenant my few scraps he threw all on weight and called it TIN. Even the manager called him out on it. But didn't do craps about it. Not sure if cause I was a girl or new at this but it put bad taste in my mouth. However the crane operator was so nice and helpful just wish he was there that day. If ur new at the scrap game don't go here.
