Mariners' Museum is a maritime history museum. It has more than 60,000 square feet of gallery space and has a variety of exhibits, such as figureheads, handcrafted ship models, civil war ironclads, United States ship monitor artifacts, paintings and craft pieces. Established in 1930, the museum s collection totals more than 35,000 artifacts, including one-third are paintings and two-thirds are 3-D objects. It offers over 5,000 square feet of garden area for various events, including weddings, receptions, seminars, lectures, board meetings, conferences, fundraisers and holiday parties. Mariners' Museum offers an online pressroom for various media related events, such as press releases, exhibition press kits and online photography exhibitions. It offers discount for group visits for school children and special events. The museum provides a caf for lunch and snacks, including various soups, salads and sandwiches.
