Atlantic Coast Electrical Service, LLC was formed in January, 2002. The company is managed by Jan D. Tonkin II, Master Electrician. Jan Tonkin received initial training in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Leonnardwood, MO in 1988. He completed his 8, 000 hour apprenticeship while stationed in Europe, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, West Point, NY and Ft. Eustis, VA. After taking several Army/DOD, community college courses in NY and Virginia he received journeyman electrician license in Norfolk, VA before leaving the Army in 1996. Jan then went to work for Advanced Electrical Service, Inc owned by Neil Martin in Newport News, VA. Atlantic Coast modeled much of its structure after Advanced Electrical Service. After a short break installing access ( keycard ) door controls for TESA Entry Systems and alarms for ADT, Jan Tonkin passed his Unlimited Electrical Contractors exam in 2001and received the South Carolina Master Electrician License in 2002.Since 2002, Atlantic Coast Electrical Service, LLC has built a strong base of commercial and residential service customers. We service individual businesses and homes, as well as condo associations and management groups. We have completed large commercial projects such as steel structures for mini-storage facilities, church remodels/additions and restaurants. We also repair/install parking lot lights, sign lighting, wall packs and any other exterior HID lighting. Aside from these services we can build custom controls for lighting, restaurant Ansul/Hood systems, custom pools/Jacuzzis sewer lift stations or anything else. We also do CATV, phone, data or computer network wiring. We are the best at getting wire into hard places without drywall damage.
