I went into Ambitions last week, because one of my friends went in there to get her hair colored and said they did an excellent job. I called to schedule an appointment and that's where the trouble started. I called at least 3times before someone picked up the phone, and I felt like the receptionist was very rude. I could not get in the with stylist who did my friends hair so I decided to try one of the other stylist. On the day of my appointment I went in and sat for about 30min before my stylist came to take me to get shampooed. I explained to her what I wanted and she did not say wither it was possible to do that to my hair or not or what she recommend. I felt that my stylist was very unorganized and was constantly excusing herself so she could go and get the materials she needed to do my hair. While I was getting my hair done other stylist in the salon were carrying on and goofing around and it felt more like a salon run by a bunch of teenagers than professional women. They were talking about going out and drinking and things I felt like were totally unprofessional. I also felt like some of the stylist were dressed unprofessional. One stylist was wearing lime green running sneakers and looked like she had just come from working out with the way her hair was pulled in a bun, and another stylist was wearing jeans! I mean this sounds picky but the salon I go to at home, because I am a student at a local university, they are always dressed nicely and look very put together. When my hair was finally done I had spots missing color, as well as color stuck on my face that would not come off and in some spots the highlights didn't even go all the way to my roots! Overall my hair cut was okay, but my color & highlights looked terrible! The last thing I want to say is that this salon was VERY dusty! I was looking at the nail colors while I was waiting for my stylist and there was just dust every where! All over the product displays, floors!! I would NOT recommend them to anyone and I told my friend who recommend them to me not to go back!!!

I was sent to Ambitions salon by my cousin who was raving about her highlights she had gotten there. I had been to other salons in the Newark area and never really got what I wanted. I called Ambitions and they fit me in later that day! I wanted to be lighter and blonder and got a full highlight. I LOVE it! The stylist took her time to explain what she was doing and made me feel totally comfortable. And to top it off the salon was having a monthly special that my haircut was FREE with the highlight, can't beat that! My cousin was right and I sending my friends! ;-)

I went into Ambitions the other day, and had a horrible experience! First off there was a baby in there and it belonged to one of the stylist and I was completely disgusted with that. I do not think a salon is a fit place for a baby to be with all the chemicals that are used and what not. And to put on top of it the hairstylist left her client to go and tend to the baby at one point. I am extremely happy that it was not my hair she was working on because she seemed very distracted. I got a hair cut, and I have to agree with the person who posted before me I did not like my haircut at all it was not what I asked for. I am a student at the University of Delaware as well, and decided to get my haircut down here instead of back home. I will never go there again, and I would not recommend them to anyone. They seemed very unorganized and very unprofessional.

I go to school, at the near by University of Del, and decided to try Ambitions, since it is a newer Salon in the area. I went there about a week ago to have my TRIMMED and a manicure done. The hairstylist completely CUT my hair did not trim it, and I was very unhappy about that. She took off about 2 1/2 in, which I consider a cut and not a trim. She also completely butchered my bangs, and I honestly cannot do anything with them. I decided to still get a manicure even after my bad experience. My manicure did turn out okay, but it was all chipped and coming off by the next day. I think the next time I need something done I'm going to try another salon in the area, since there are a TON to chose from.

The pizza here is fairly good. It can be a bit on the greasy side, though. The games available make any wait seem like little time.
