New Horizons School is a private, nonreligious, elementary school. Opened in 1988, the school has an enrollment of more than 200 students in junior kindergarten through grade eight. It offers a range of academic courses and day care programs. The school conducts individualized reading and math lessons. New Horizons School also offers classes in Spanish, French, physical education, music and computer applications. Its after-school program includes dance, music, art and drama. The school also maintains acting, chess and needle work clubs. Its summer school program features arts and crafts, sports and nature walks. New Horizons School additionally offers tutoring to children who need extra assistance in the areas of arithmetic, science, phonics, creative writing and history. The school is located in Fremont, Calif.
