The initial service there was friendly and courteous and the quality of the van I rented was high. HOWEVER, I'm giving it a poor review due to the exchange I just had with management over their gas policy. I called to suggest that they consider giving customers credit if they receive the car initially with less than a full tank of gas (in my case, 1/4 tank, requiring that I fill it up unexpectedly on my way to my destination), and then return it with more than 1/4 tank. My argument is simply that if you receive the car initially with a full tank, it's very easy to simply top it off before your return and ensure that what you received is what you return it with. However, if you start with a 1/4 tank, it's near-impossible to estimate exactly the amount necessary to return it with exactly a 1/4 tank and avoid penalty (either by being below 1/4 tank in which they charge you, or being above 1/4 tank, in which you use the value of what you paid extra for the gas not used). My only point was that the customer should have a bit of leeway in situations like these, but the manager was very defensive and, I felt, treated me without giving me the courtesy of the benefit of the doubt. In the future I will therefore have to bring my business elsewhere.
