I brought my old but running electric motor in to buy a matching replacement. They said they didn't carry a replacement motor but could look at mine and the man said he would call me to let me know if it could be fixed. I had found a very close match on-line from Amazon for about $45. but prefered to buy local to make sure I had the right thing even if it cost more. I was also reluctant to reuse the old one but decided it woundn't hurt to let someone look at it and give me a price. Two days later I got a voice message that it was ready. Surprised, I went to the shop where the lady gave me the motor and said I owed $20. I asked what was done, she read the ticket 'cleaned assembly and oiled" I looked in the back slots and there was just as much dust as before. There was excess oil on the front but the motor had not been cleaned or disassembeld. It apears that I paid $20 and wasted two trips for someone to oil it, which I have done several times before.
