They had a dog we wanted. Our application was approved. They said the dog wasn't ready for adoption? What! So we brought him home under foster care. After 3 months of fostering him and he was a perfect fit for us and him they called and we had to return him. So their vet could look at him now we don't know if we will get him back since they wanted him back permanently. I can not recommend this place for any reason. Why would they have any dog not ready for adoption up for adoption? So now we are back looking for another. Don't waste your time here

I have used this place before, and at the time, received wonderful service. However, my last visit was anything but. I know longer recommend this place because of how we were treated recently. I was interested in an animal. I sent them emails all week long on possible getting a hold on them. I asked the availability on it. After 1 week of corresponding, telling me how great this pet would be, come meet her, I finally get an email to send back the enclosed application to hold the animal since the extreme interest I was showing. At that time, I was pre-approved since I had already adopted 1 from them prior. Then I received and email back telling me there was another "hold" on this animal, but the feelings were that person wasn't going to take her, and they don't always go with the first application anyways. I was urged to come and meet her to see if she was a right fit for us. We did this, but I was mortified as to how we were treated once we got there. I kept trying to explain that I had a hold, that yes, I know there is another hold, but I was told to come and meet her to see if she was a good fit. I held her in my arms for less then 5 minutes and taken off of me do to the fact she was on "hold". Then I was informed they gave the other "hold" until monday to decide if she wanted her. A decision???? You shouldn't be allowed to have a "hold" on an animal if you are "UNDECIDED". So, with this said, and a very broken heart, I will never go back to this horrid place. They might take care of the animals, but their people skills are a little to be desired. They are heartless and cruel, and play with peoples emotions. I believe they already knew this animal was to be adopted, but played my emotions to get me down there to adopt another. As sad as it is, we did not. We do not live close to this place, and to make us travel down there to meet and see if the animal was right for us (which by the way, she was) knowing she was NOT available was the cruelest thing anyone could ever do. With that said, this is why they will only get one star from me.

Best Shelter Around

I work at a local pet store and have come in contact with alot of different animal shelters and this one is the best around by far.The staff there is very friendly and has a sincere caring for all of the animals there. They are the only shelter that comes to the store faithfully every weekend with different dogs and cats in need of homes.I have fostered one of their dogs and anytime anything was ever needed it was just a phone call away.I have dealt mainly with Cheryl and she is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.My dog and I will be forever grateful to her.She went above and beyond for the care of my dog.I would reccomend this shelter to anyone searching for a family pet.
